Create Your Dream Bedroom This Spring
The start of a new season often gives us that urge for a change, whether that’s decluttering a space, or refreshing a room with a lick of paint for a new lease of life. It could be as simple as changing things around or curating your favourite accessories to create something new. Spring cleaning is very much on the to do list so why not redesign your bedroom.
Declutter
Firstly, a bedroom should be a place of calm, the one room in the home where you can feel totally relaxed. Start by removing items that do not belong in the bedroom, such as the pile of ironing, or drying laundry, these things are not conducive to a tranquil environment. Once any obvious and larger cluttered items are removed, then you can focus on organising the bedside tables and wardrobe.
Create A Mood Board
Think about the look and feel of your dream bedroom, and create a mood board either on paper, or digitally, Pinterest is great place to look for inspiration and start to pull together images and colours that you would like your bedroom to become. Will it be minimal with a light and airy feel, or do prefer darker shades for a dramatic look? Perhaps, you want your bedroom to be cosy and inviting, you may want to use patterned bedroom wallpaper and display your favourite trinkets and accessories, leaning into the intentional clutter trend.
Opting for a calm bedroom creates that sense of escapism. Neutrals don’t have to be boring as you can bring in texture with a beautiful bed like our Robyn bed, with rounded headboard finished in a beige soft brushed fabric. Introduce hints of colour with bedding or cushions with soft shades like on trend butter yellow, or earthy natural tones which blend well with a neutral palette yet also bring warmth to the space.
If you want to steer away from a white bedroom but not sure of what colours to use then try an earthy green shade on the walls, which will evoke a feeling of calm but is not as dark as navy blues or purples. You can add bolder pieces with accessories and black bedroom furniture like our Jack chest of drawers and bedside table.
Explore Beautiful Beds
Our bed collection offers inviting styles for all bedrooms designed to give you a cosy night’s sleep. New for 2025 Laura James introduces the Robyn ottoman bed and the Finola ottoman bed both with a soft rounded headboard, to give a nod to the current curve trend. For a touch of luxury in the bedroom why not opt for the Alice bed finished in a sumptuous ink blue velvet bed for a bold look.
Introducing Texture & Accessories
Accessorizing your bedroom is the fun part, and the chance to add some personality to your décor. Texture is important in a bedroom, especially if you want to create that cosy feeling. Opting for lots of layered cushions and a patterned bed spread can really add depth to your bedroom scheme. Bedroom rugs like the Atcham can also add texture to the space.
Add some personality to the room by introducing some wall décor, whether that’s a beautiful arched mirror or abstract wall art like our Umari cotton prints. Our terrazzo Karasi side table features textured arched design and would make perfect statement bedside tables.
Bedroom Lighting
Bedroom lights should be practical yet soft, so it’s not to stark and bright. Our Carrick pendent light is finished in beautiful champagne coloured glass for an elegant look, that also adds a subtle touch of colour. Create a layered lighting effect with bedroom lights using bedside lamps like our fluted Pimlico lamp will add to the ambience of the bedroom. If you are short on space why not opt for a smaller bedside table with a wall light or pendent light hanging over the bedside table.
Bedroom Storage
Bedroom storage is essential if you want to keep your bedroom organised. Choose a wardrobe with plenty of storage space for your clothes and a chest of drawers. Consider bedside tables, do you have space for them at either side of the bed and do you need storage for things like glasses and other nighttime essentials.
If you have space in your room, then you could include a dressing table to store make-up and toiletries or display your favourite perfume bottles or add a candle for a pretty look. Organise bits and bobs in our Shaldon natural basket for a stylish look. Finally, remember to take measurements of your room to ensure any new furniture will fit.
