What to Consider When Buying Fire Pit Furniture
Our gardens are simply an extension of our homes. With outdoor kitchens, bars and hot tubs becoming popular garden additions, choosing the right furniture and accessories for our outdoor décor has become just as considered as our interior choices. Firepits and furniture with firepits have become a sought-after garden feature, but there are a few things to consider before investing one.
Dedicate Space
Before purchasing a firepit table, you will need a dedicated space in the garden. Plan where you would like to dine outside and consider if you have enough space for seating family and friends. Ideally a spacious area would work well and ensure the firepit is not too close to any low hanging tree branches or bushes.
Fire & Safety
Having any source of fire in the garden can be hazardous, so it is vital you are extremely careful around a lit firepit. Having a firepit table with a protective glass barrier around the fire allows you to enjoy it at a safe distance, where as a firepit bowl on the ground is more exposed and you will need to be careful when walking around it. Remember to always keep an eye on your firepit and never leave children unsupervised around any type of firepit.
Our fire pit table is available to buy with a parasol. Using a cantilever or lean over parasol over a gas lit firepit helps keeps the heat in, but we would suggest having at least 2 meters of clearance from the flame to the canopy of the parasol, for safety reasons. Never open and close the parasol over a burning firepit.
Investing in an outdoor dining set with a firepit is a fantastic way to entertain and dine with guests in the garden. Here at Laura James we have extended our rattan garden furniture range for 2025 and have introduced the Aston fire pit table. With a glass tabletop the firepit sits at the centre of the rectangular table with a protective glass barrier and comes with decorative stones. The Aston set includes a corner sofa with comfy cushions and three footstools which can also be used as extra seats.
Warmth & Cosiness
The beauty of the firepit table is it provides so many benefits for you to enjoy, especially, when it comes to chilly evenings. If dining and outdoor entertaining continues after sundown then you can enjoy the warmth and glow of the firepit flames. Provide blankets for your guests to huddle under whilst you enjoy the cosy feeling of sitting by the fire whether you’re enjoying toasting marshmallows or chatting over cocktails.
