5 Easter Hosting Tips
Easter is a lovely time to celebrate with friends and family. Whether you’ll be getting together on Good Friday or hosting Easter Sunday lunch for the family, there are a few ways to keep everyone entertained, from Easter egg hunts to delightful Easter treats.
Easter Styling
Styling your home for Easter has become a popular tradition over the past few years. From Easter bunting to bunny and egg themed décor there are a variety of ways to incorporate this theme throughout your home be it subtle or maximalist. You could introduce a few pastel-coloured accessories to your interior space for a fresh update including cushions or decorative ornaments.
Freshen up your hallway with candle holders with tea lights or a scented candle fragrance such as floral or fresh cotton to create a welcoming feel to your home. Pop an Easter wreath on your front door or an interior wall and of course a vase of spring flowers always adds a homely touch.
Prepare Before Your Guests Arrive
If you have relatives or friends staying, ensure you have things in order before they arrive. If you have guests staying overnight, then prepare the guest bedroom with new bedding, fresh towels and a vase of flowers to make your guests feel welcome. If you don’t have guest bedroom then why not make use of space in the study or living room with a handy sofa bed like our compact and stylish double Una sofa bed. Be sure to plan the Easter Egg hunt before anyone arrives, the last thing you want to do is figure out hiding places when you are serving guests welcome drinks.
Create An Eggcellent Tablescape
Create a pretty tablescape with a few Easter-themed ideas, from a whimsical Easter bunny table design that the kids will love, to a floral affair with beautiful table linen and a table runner and fresh flowers at the centrepiece.
Tablescaping for any occasion can be as creative as you wish. Introduce colours to your theme, for Easter, pale greens, yellows, or natural tones with a touch of pastel pink will work beautifully.
Once you have decided on colours then you can create fun place settings with Easter plates, beautiful napkin rings and egg decorations and a few mini eggs as a treat for each guest will also complement a pastel-coloured theme. If you prefer not to have a focus at the centre of the table, then add a table garland of foliage or a string of pompoms.
Our Charlotte dining set offers a rustic country look perfect for dining and entertaining with the family. The Charlotte dining table is also available as a garden table, if you plan on dining outdoors over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Easter Egg Hunt & Games
After lunch why not get everyone together for a fun Easter egg hunt! If you have little ones, they’ll love running around the garden searching for eggs with a little basket and it will keep them entertained for a while. For adults and older kids who like a challenge, hide your eggs around the house and garden and create a treasure hunt with a set of clues for each hiding spot, just remember where you have hidden them! You can also enjoy Easter themed charades or a quiz where all the family get involved.
After Sunset
Make the most of the bank holiday weekend and continue the Easter celebrations after sunset. Add solar lights to light up the garden or enjoy toasting marshmallows over the firepit. Our Aston firepit table is ideal for evening entertaining, whether you’re dining or simply enjoying a few drinks. Supply a few blankets for guests when it gets chilly and enjoy the warmth and glow from the firepit.
